FEVER, reporter Phindile Shozi, had a one on one with musician Filip Kormuth ahead of his show at Le Domaine Hillcrest on April 20. Tell me a little bit about the event? Marianna Eriksen (violinist) and I have performed together a number of times last year in various venues around Durban. This is the first time that we are holding a Milonga (evening of Tango music and dance) at the Le Domaine. Le Domaine is a vibrant venue that hosts dance evenings (mostly Ballroom) regularly. With the wonderful singer Annalie Herbst van Rooyen on board, we are sure that our Milongas will become a frequent event at this lovely venue. PS: What is Milonga? FK: Milonga is an event, a social gathering that consists of dinning, conversation, music and dance. The Durban Dance community is truly a beautiful one. It consists mostly of amateur dancers, many of them self-tough who come together every so often to dance, converse and have a good time. This community is like a precious gem mostly hidden from the eyes of the general public. It is my vision to for more people to experience the magic of our evenings. PS: What is the purpose of the event? FK: We are on a quest to bring more beautiful music to the people of Durban. PS: What can people expect from the day? FK: While the Durban dance community has grown familiar with the sound of our small ensemble, we would like invite the non-dancing community to come and join us. The evening will be filled with beautiful music, exquisite dancing and lovely dining, courtesy of Le Domaine. Everyone who comes can expect to escape of the stress of daily life, to experience beauty and to leave feeling enriched, relaxed and happy. It is essential to make bookings with Le Domaine.
