A 21-year-old man and his 19-year-old accomplice were arrested following intensive investigations for a business robbery committed in Molweni on Saturday.

According to Hillcrest SAPS communications officer constable N Manqele, police received information that an Ethiopian man was robbed of cash amounting to R3570 and airtime to the value of R2500.

“It is alleged that the victim, 39, was asleep in his home when he heard a loud noise outside the house.”

Manqele said that when the victim went to investigate where the sound came from he was accosted by four armed men.

“One of the men was arrested on the same night by Constable Nkululeko Ndlovu from Pinetown trio crime unit. He followed up the information about the whereabouts of the outstanding men and another was arrested on Monday,” said Manqele.

“Constable Ndlovu is still following the other two men who are still at large. The arrested men will be charged and appear in Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.

Hillcrest acting station commander commended the good work done by Constable Ndlovu who is working around the clock making sure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
