NEVER in a million years did Chrisintha Moodley, a maintenance administrator at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom, ever think she would star in a movie, but her dream is about to be made reality.

The former Mrs Phoenix will star in the sequel to Broken Promises 4-Ever, which will be released in 2018.

The movie, by Kumaran Naidu of Garuda Motion Pictures, boasts many new characters, is full of comedy and drama, and will feature a few twists to keep the audience enthralled.

Scenes for the movie have been shot in Blue Lagoon, Phoenix, Chatsworth and Reservoir Hills.

“From the time I met with Kumaran Naidu for the audition in April 2017, I knew I wanted to work with him on this movie.

“I could see that he is easy to work with and such a gentleman. The movie is my next big adventure after my year-long reign as Mrs Phoenix 2016/2017 which concluded in October 2017,” says Moodley.

Becoming Mrs Phoenix represented the start of a new chapter for her, and proved life changing for the casino employee who never pictured herself in the limelight.

“Suddenly being recognised by the community was a very humbling. However, being Mrs Phoenix gave me the platform to take my charity and community work that I have been doing for many years to new heights. I’ve embarked on many community drives during my reign like sponsoring two schools, the Phoenix Child Welfare and the women of Elim Senior Citizens Club. To see the appreciation on people’s faces was overwhelming,” she says.

Besides the charity work during her reign, she has also judged other pageants, graced functions and delivered motivational talks on cancer. But the cherry on top was her trip to India that she won as part of her prize.

“It has been a wonderful journey and I enjoyed every moment of it. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my family, my friends, colleagues at Sibaya, and the community for supporting me during my reign and making it such an awesome experience, one that I will cherish always. I look forward to your continued support during my next venture and many more wonderful things in store.”
