WEDNESDAY July 18 will mark the 100th celebration of the birth of the late South African president, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, and The Robin Hood Foundation will celebrate the day with the pupils from Lalelani Primary School.

The Robin Hood Foundation founder and chairlady, Cindy Norcott said: “Providing a unique opportunity for people around the world to reflect on his life and times, and promote his legacy, this year The Robin Hood Foundation wants to make it epic for the pupils at Lalelani Primary School.”

“Madiba has been a major source of inspiration for us at the Robin Hood Foundation in the past 13 years that we’ve been serving in the community. This year we celebrate our Mandela Day with the 700 pupils at Lalelani Primary School,” she said. Norcott said they are in the process of uplifting the school through their 2018 Buy-a-Brick campaign. The day promises to be unique, abundant and jam-packed full of activities, blessings and fun for the children: “We will be joined by celebrity DJ Lloyd Paul, internationally renowned story-teller, author and poet Dr. Gcina Mhlophe, Giffy the artist and a host of volunteers from companies and the community that all want to make a mark in the lives of these children.”

Norcott said Mandela Day calls on everyone, everyday to make the world a better place. “We are appealing to you to get involved — donate, pledge, support and join us on July 18,” she added. See page 10 and 11 for the Fever’s Mandela Day feature.
