IT was with mixed emotion, many tears, and laughter, that the Hillcrest High family said farewell to the 2017 matrics last week.

A fun assembly was organised by the matrics as they dressed in all sorts of outfits and officiated proceedings with many awards, ranging from best hairstyle, to most talkative.

The final official valedictory assembly took place on Friday, and matrics had their chance of ringing the bell one last time as they made their way through a Grade 11 human tunnel, with parents at the end, armed with cameras to capture the special moment.

Now with final exams in full steam, the school wishes them the very best.

Mrs Deirdre Kroone, Grade 12 controller said: “Give it your best, you know you have it in you. It has been a great five years, and we will miss you all.”

Headmaster Mr Craig Girvin wished the pupils well and said all their hard work and determination will pay off.

“I wish our matric pupils well for these examinations and hope they enjoy the success they deserve. I thank the staff for all they have done to prepare our matrics for the examinations.”
