WOZA Moya’s Upcycled Art Centre based at the Hillcrest Aids Centre creates beautiful pieces of art from used and unwanted materials such as plastic buckets, atlases, cardboard and packaging. The project has recently welcomed its second artist, Clive Nene, who for the past few months has been making beautiful sets of drinking glasses out of used beer bottles.

Nene is 25 years-old and lives in Clermont. He was previously unemployed, before starting at Hact in May earlier this year. He is loving being part of the Woza Moya team and is very grateful for the opportunity to develop his talents and earn a living.
“I’m so happy to be here and to be doing something with my hands. It is good to be busy and everyone has been very helpful and supportive since I started,” said Nene.

His sets of upcycled drinking glasses are currently selling for R110 for six in a cardboard gift box or R170 for six in a wooden gift box.
