KWANYUSWA’S Sphamandla Mdluli fell in love with arts and crafts in his high school days but he didn’t know how to pursue his passion, until he met a person who introduced him to crafts at the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust (Hact).

Mdluli said: “I really didn’t know what to pursue after matric until I met this lady who was crafting items at Hact and she asked me to help. I don’t know what she saw in me and to this day I will be indebted to her.”

Mdluli said that this year marks 11 years of him crafting at Hact.

He said that Hact has given him so much exposure and there’s nothing that gives him more pleasure than seeing people buy his work.

The passionate go-getter said that due to the love he has for craft, he will now teach others these skill so they too can make a living with craft. “I would like to thank the Hact Woza Moya team for encouraging me to do what I love and I encourage others to also follow their passion,” said Mdluli.
