HEALTH Republic is a health store that is helping people in Kloof to “Live Life Naturally”.

With two unlikely partners who have found a lot in common, including a passion for living a healthy and active lifestyle to healing disease and everyday ailments the natural way, Deborah van der Westhuizen and Dallen Roos embarked on changing the old health shop called Health Wise, into a new and trendy fitted-out store with preserve jar light fittings and an ambience similar to walking into a peaceful and calming forest. It’s all about back to basics and going back to nature, they said.

“We renamed and rebranded it Health Republic. Our vision is to create healthy, fit and happy residents in leafy Kloof.”

Van der Westhuizen, who has been in the natural medicine industry for 20 years, and also owns the well-known brand Phyto-Force Herbal Tinctures and Bio-Logic Herbal Remedies, has a wealth of knowledge of Western herbal medicine or phyto therapeutic medicines, and a deep understanding of the power of the healing abilities of plants from all over the world. She also has a passion for the newly found “clean eating” way of life.

Roos, a passionate athlete, thrives on fitness and the importance of good nutrition. His love for the health store has been evident from the beginning, when he used his inheritance which was left to him by his mother to purchase the Health Wise store in Kloof Village Mall.

Needing someone to help him realise his dream, he approached several people but found his partner in Van der Westhuizen, who had this to say: “Helping a young entrepreneur who is so passionate about his beliefs to realise his dream has been a breath of fresh air for me.

“Dallen is exactly the right person to create the right health store for this area with his young and innovative ideas, and it has been a wonderful project for me to help him achieve this.”

The two have great ideas in the pipeline, from supplying products without wasteful and harmful packaging, to introducing good ready-made organic frozen baby foods for young working or busy mums, and “clean eating” healthy take-away lunches. Watch this space.

“We already stock fantastic banting frozen foods from The Bantory, to Gut Healing Bone Broth, which has many more healing properties than mentionable.

“We also have two homeopaths in our store and a naturopath, one of only 14 in the country, not to mention our store manager, who is well-known to all Kloof residents.

“We believe we are Kloof’s best-kept secret,” they said.
