GOOD behaviour is reaping great rewards for Upper Highway pupils following the launch of the second Toys R Us “TRUper” competition, which highlights the importance of doing good deeds.

Through the competition pupils across the country will be acknowledged and rewarded for simply displaying good etiquette.

The pupils selected were Kloof Senior Primary’s Trent Taskes, Winston Park’s Tyra Webb and Hillcrest Primary’s Zoe Padbury.

Nicole Annells, marketing manager of Toys R Us South Africa said: “The Kloof Senior Primary TRUper award was presented to Trent Taskes. He is one of those little boys who tries to keep himself busy to keep out of mischief.

“From young Trent has enjoyed helping out in the garden at home, especially the vegetable garden. In the recent holidays Trent asked a volunteer of Keep Kloof Beautiful Association, if he could assist the association. The KHBA was delighted at Trent’s offer and ‘signed him up’ immediately to start work.

“Trent spent the rest of his holiday with all the volunteers redesigning an island in Kloof central.”

She says Winston Park Primary’s Tyra Webb competed in an ‘Abilgility’ competition in Thailand and came second in her level against children from different countries. She achieves well in the classroom and is an all-round “great child”.

Hillcrest Primary’s Zoe Padbury was chosen as she had the courage to stand up against cyber bullying.

“To stand a chance of claiming the title of Toys R Us ‘TRPUper’, the competition invites children and teachers to nominate a schoolmate, who exhibits exemplary qualities and is recognised as a role model by his or her peers,” says Annells.
