IT was a day of fun, food and laughter when Media24’s Hillcrest, Pinetown and Amanzimtoti Fevers, in partnership with Escombe KwikSpar and the Main Group of SPARS - Main SPAR, Sarnia SPAR, Escombe KwikSpar and Hillary SPAR, visited Ethelbert Child and Youth Centre to host a Christmas party for the children.

The home cares for many children who have been removed from their parents because of sexual and/or physical abuse, neglect, abandonment, and those orphaned because of HIV and Aids.

The home has been caring for and loving these South African children since it began in 1907.

Media24 staff provided a jumping castle, sweets, drinks, chips, biscuits and cake for the little ones who were overwhelmed with everything.

SPAR spokesperson Tersia Takes said: “It was wonderful to be involved in this well deserving community project.
”Escombe KwikSpar sponsored hotdogs and boerewors rolls which the children ate with great gusto.

“Everyone participated in ball games and soccer. Some of the little ones just wanted to be held and loved, which is exactly what they were showered with, lots of love.. A great time was had by all and it was certainly a humbling experience for the Fever team and Escombe KwikSpar staff.

“Well done to everyone for participating in this event and ensuring these children got spoilt and had fun.” she added.
