Four killed in Shongweni crash

A MAN, woman and two toddlers died and three other patients sustained moderate injuries in a crash on the N3 by the Shongweni on ramp on Sunday night.

ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found that a vehicle had rolled multiple times.

Patients were scattered across the scene.

“Upon assessment of the patients it was found that a woman had succumbed to her injuries.

“A man and two toddlers were treated however despite all efforts to save them, they succumbed to their injuries on scene as well,” said ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing.

“A child believed to be about 11 years old as well as two other women were treated for their injuries and transported to hospital for further medical care.”

The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities are investigating. - Supplied
