Game of lecherous old men

2017-09-19 06:00

IT is spring time and love is in the air. But instead of the ANC spring-cleaning its filthy house before its 54th national conference in December, rival members are jockeying for key positions and resorting to dirty tricks, airing the dirty linen of their opponents for all to see.

The second high-profile leader to fall victim to the dirty game of politics after Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe is Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, who, if a Sunday newspaper is to believed, was caught with his pants down.

If it’s true, it’s a poor reflection on his character and may hurt his political ambitions. But it may also turn out to be a non-event. Jacob Zuma became president despite a heavy cloud of corruption hanging over his head.

Politics has always been a dirty game played by lecherous old men with no morals, scruples or principles.
