Gang of 10 invade home

2018-01-23 06:01

BLUE Security has warned residents to remind their domestic workers of home security rules after a domestic worker opened up for a more than 10-man-strong gang of armed robbers who invaded a Kloof home on Friday.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the gang arrived at the family’s Mtombe Avenue home in two vehicles at around 3.30pm. The gang was driving a grey/blue Golf 7 and a white Golf 7.

“The suspects pressed the intercom and a domestic worker opened the gate. Vehicles drove into the property and the suspects burst into the house and forced the family members and domestic workers onto the floor,” Mathios said.

“One of the suspects then forced the resident’s son to take him to the main bedroom where he ripped out part of the CCTV system. The gang fled with the system leaving the family unharmed.”

It is unclear whether other valuables had been stolen. Kloof SAPS attended the scene of the crime. - Supplied.
