UPPER Highway’s Matt Wilson had a dream to own his own plant nursery one-day and, despite the challenges he faced he and ‘losing it all’, he never gave up. Today, Wilson is running a successful nursery from his home.

Speaking to Fever, Wilson shared his passion for gardening and encouraged people to start planting at their homes.

“I was involved in a business venture which actually collapsed — we lost everything. The worst part is that I lost all my plant stock at that time,” explained Wilson.

However, the situation did not make Wilson give up on his dream of having his own nursery of plants and herbs but, instead, it gave him more courage to strive for betterment. “I picked myself up from nothing and started planting again however, this time, I did it from my home,” said Wilson.

Of the entire incident Wilson said: “When you have nothing, that’s when you get to learn the most about yourself and you can really work on the things that need to be focused on.”

He said that the experience was an eye-opener for him and now he is more successful than ever.

“The knowledge that I had gained from losing what I cherished the most kept me going and now I have my plants and herb garden at home.

“I am also able to make my own home-remedies for illnesses etc. That is why I encourage people to start planting their own gardens,” explained Wilson.

His wish is to educate the community on the indigenous plants and herbs that will help them in the near future.

He encouraged those that are willing to know more about planting, organic farming, and herbs to contact him and he will freely give them the information.

Interested parties can contact Wilson through his facebook page, Moontree.
