HER love for dancing began 27 years ago at her first dance class, and since then Bronwyn Whittington has lived and breathed dancing.
Whittington's love grew stronger, resulting in her opening a dance studio in Pinetown six years ago called Nouveau Dance Studio, and Extreme Dance Company 10 years ago, where she passes on her experience and knowledge to her dancers of all age group through pole dancing (and other dance styles).

She said: “Nouveau Dance Studio, Events & Entertainment empowers women through the art of dance. Every woman is beautiful and deserves to feel strong and empowered. As women we need to feel confident in our own skin, adore our curves and learn to love ourselves regardless of age, shape or size and I do that through dancing. Our teaching methods make you feel comfortable and at ease while you get fit and have fun.”

She added that Nouveau Dance Studio was established in June 2010. “We were the first pole dance studio in Durban and remain the largest with two studio venues and four instructors. Our

weekly dance styles include pole dance fitness, aerial yoga, hip-hop, dance fitness as well as flexibility classes. We have classes for children and adults. Every year we host a few events and work hard to educate the public about pole and aerial sport and to unite dancers in KZN.”

She said vertical pole is ideal for strength training, cardiovascular training and muscle toning. A total body workout. pole is for everyone of all ages, and anyone can learn the fundamentals of pole and enjoy the benefits of pole. “Even the most basic move can increase strength, boost self-esteem, and look beautifully impressive, so whether you call it pole dance or pole fitness there is no escaping that this is one of the hottest workouts today.” Bronwyn said: “I am lucky enough to be living my passion. Owning your own business is exceptionally hard work but the rewards are worth it.”
