HARMONY Assessment and Therapy Centre is a peaceful, play-based and esteem-building environment for one’s child to have individually tailored assessments done by passionate, patient health professionals.

The Centre is the proverbial “one-stop” centre for all assessment and therapy needs, run by members of an already functioning trans-disciplinary team of therapists, which has been efficiently managing children’s cases for the past 10 years.

PARTNERS:

• Viona Odendaal, educational psychologist

• Tarryn Hulley, occupational therapist

• Joanne Ravell (Imrie), speech language pathologist

Candice Wilson (Biolink Attention Training and Study Hub) and Lana Smith play therapist offer sessions at the centre.
From 2018, the centre will have Justine Rae, an audiologist, who has an interest in CAPD (central auditory processing disorder) and Elaine Redington, a remedial teacher who will provide extra lessons.

Collaboration with a local dietician will complete the holistic centre, which functions in a way that embraces your child’s “whole body” health and wellness.

Assessments for school readiness, school placement, examination concessions, full academic, cognitive, diagnostic and emotional assessments are offered by the educational psychologist.

The centre’s OT is sensory integration trained and offers sensory, fine motor, sensorimotor or visual perceptual assessments and therapy.
Joanne Ravell, the resident “speechie”, is passionate about early intervention and offers speech, language, processing assessments as well as speech or language processing therapy for all ages.

Full developmental assessments including assessments from all three health professionals makes us unique in the Upper Highway.

Parenting workshops as well as therapeutic holiday programmes are to be run at certain periods throughout the year.

Each therapist has 12 years or more of experience with helping little and school-going children thrive while overcoming their barriers.

In the new beautiful premises at 39 Everton Road, Gillitts, we continue to strive for children to thrive, in harmony with themselves, their families, school, friends and community.

The centre thanks Waterfall Spar for sponsoring food and Desiree Dales for the photography.
