HIGHBURY Preparatory School is immensely proud of the team of grade seven boys who completed the 10th Annual Maputuland Challenge recently. This team of talented runners ran between 35 and 45 kms each on gruelling sandy roads in the heat and raised an amazing total of over R86 000 for Highbury’s two adopted rhinos, Tai and Baleka. On October 21, a cheque was handed over to Dr Roelie Kloppers, the Executive Director of Wildlands Conservation Trust from Highbury Preparatory School. Highbury is incredibly grateful to Mr Paddy Collins, the retired teacher who still organises the event, and all the support of the boys’ parents and sponsors. The boys themselves certainly rose to the challenge and discovered that with determination and grit, they could achieve more than they ever believed they could. — Supplied.
