CONGRATULATIONS to the Hillcrest High Class of 2017 on an excellent set of results.

The matric Class of 2017 achieved an excellent pass rate of 99.47% (compared to 2016’s 98.96%) (with the national average being 76.5% - 75.1% if including progressed pupils - and 72.8% for KwaZulu-Natal) with another excellent Hillcrest High matric class achievement of 80.42% of Bachelor passes.

Overall, 195 distinctions were achieved. “Our 2017 matric class have done themselves, their families and their teachers at Hillcrest High proud. I especially want to thank our staff and parents for their efforts to help pupils achieve this. We wish our young ladies and gentlemen the very best as they pursue their future goals,” said Mrs Denise Knight, Hillcrest High School Deputy Principal.
Some of the top individual performers were as follows.

• Muvhusi Mmbara with an incredible nine distinctions, including 94% for physical science and 100% for history.

• Chanan Rouillon and Hannah Upfold, both with seven distinctions.

• Timon deWaal, Mandie Marais, Michaela Naidoo all achieving six distinctions.

• Ashley Fox, Ross Dinkelmann, Keagon Chavoos, Craig Dowdall, Kayla Harvey, Bruce Hollington, Katherine Mundell and Esai Reddy each achieved five distinctions.

• Georgia Gifford, and Jang-Shan Ko also achieved good results.
