HILLCREST High School’s 1st girls’ hockey team took part in the U18 indoor hockey tournament hosted at Danville Girls’ School in Durban last weekend.

Hillcrest High’s performance was outstanding. They progressed through the round-robin matches unbeaten, to advance to an exciting final against Northlands Girls’. In what proved to be a close and intense final, the Hillcrest girls went on to score the winning goal with just 10 seconds to spare, sealing their win of the tournament. Coach Patrick Windsor beamed as he said: “I am super proud of my girls”.

On top of winning the tournament, Hillcrest’s Tallyn Tregear won the most valuable player of the tournament award, even though she had only just flown back into the country on Wednesday, having returned from a Rotary Exchange Programme in Austria. — Supplied.
