Horrific ordeal for Waterfall couple

2016-02-23 06:00

AN elderly Waterfall couple are lucky to be alive after two men entered their home by force last week.

According to Hillcrest SAPS CPF public relations officer Steven King, the elderly couple in the late sixties were asleep when they heard a noise.

“The husband went to the lounge to check and was surprised by two in their twenties. One then lunged at the husband and a scuffle ensued,” said King.

“The suspect then pulled out a knife and started stabbing him in the arms, neck and upper body.

“His wife came through and the second suspect attacked her. She fought back and he tried to strangle her.”

King said she managed to fight the attacker off and they fled to the lounge where they demanded that the door is opened.

“The suspects then fled through the reserve towards Inanda Road. The man was taken to hospital and discharged,” he added.

Securelink, SAP Hillcrest, Careline Crises center, SA CCW and Vema attended. The incident is still being investigated as the suspect are still at large.
