ICEBOLETHU Group hosted a successful Back to School Campaign at the Pinetown Civic Centre recently.
According to Icebolethu Group spokesperson Anelisa Msimang the initiative was aimed at championing children and enforced the learning culture to all children. This initiative was supported by the KZN Department of Education funded by Icebolethu Group.
“The campaign has been running for three years, successfully giving away full sets of school uniforms to all underprivileged pupils per school, this includes school shoes, uniforms, school bags and stationery. This year we had a total of 40 schools that have been part of our Learners Burial Scheme during the year 2016. This initiative assisted 400 pupils in total. In addition we offer a burial scheme as part of our CSI programme that covers each child should the family ever need the service.” Icebolethu Foundation will also allow performing schools and under resourced schools an opportunity to establish a media center. “We will install computers and the latest technology to allow for learning and education. Our CSI programme includes partnering with the community in developing labour talent. “We have also embarked on a learnership programme with the focus on various disciplines which has allowed over 200 unemployed graduates an opportunity to be employed in the workplace - 70% have been successfully employed within our industry.”
“Under the leadership of Nomfundo Mcoyi, the founder and owner of Icebolethu Group, we are proud to announce our recent achievement and celebration of seven years of existence. “Icebolethu Group is one of the first black female-owned successful funeral businesses in South Africa. Our CEO has lived the vision to see it grow to where it is today.
“The opportunity to serve our people in the United Kingdom is another success story - we currently have over 1500 members who have joined our funeral scheme and have successfully brought home 20 bereaved from the UK.” Icebolethu has won awards within the financial services and general industries. “We have over the past years of operation won an SMME Excellence Award, SAPFA award for the Funeral Business of the year 2016, SA Business Premier Award 2016 and 2017 and numerous nominations for awards in the business sector categories. “We have been privileged to be trusted to do funeral arrangements for South African icons including David Masondo and Sifiso Ncwane.”
