HIRSCH’S Hillcrest branch held its monthly Margaret Hirsch Woman in Business Achiever of the Year ladies networking morning recently.

Nikki Rossato, owner of Nikki’s Gift Shop, was announced as the Margaret Hirsch Women in Business January finalist. She owns branches in Durban North, Umhlanga, Hilton and Hillcrest. The gift shops specialise in gifts for all occasions.

Rossato has supported an organisation called Red Light that helps woman escape human trafficking and prostitution by giving them skills and income from making jewellery from drift wood.

“It is a privilege to receive this award. I encourage all the hard working women who own businesses to make use of this amazing opportunity to network. Thanks to Hirsch’s for having such a wonderful initiative and for supporting all the women in business throughout South Africa,” she said.

Guest speaker, Linda Vorster who spoke about ‘Staying healthy in a toxic world’, said that most brown breads contain white flour and have a lot less nutrients than people think.

“We need to be careful of pesticides and make sure we always wash fruit and vegetables, no matter where they’re purchased.” She said.

The next Women in Business event will be held on 10 February at 9 am where the finalist for February ‘Women in Business’ will be announced. Contact taryn@hirschs.co.za to book your seat.
