Joint rescue operation a success in cliff incident

A man, believed to be 40-years-old, sustained serious injuries after he allegedly fell down a cliff in Winston Park on Thursday afternoon.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 15.30, they were led to the back of a property where it is believed the man fell roughly 60 metres down a cliff. After some time, paramedics managed to reach the man, whom they lying in a little stream in serious condition.

After a lengthy rescue operation, and with the help of the SAPS Search and Rescue, Rescuetech, and another medical service on the scene, they managed to get the man to the top of the cliff before transporting him to the hospital for further medical care.

The incident is being investigated.
