THE Christmas holidays are the busiest and worst time of year at the Kloof and Highway SPCA. From now until the middle of January, the kennels and cattery will be overflowing with lost, abandoned, unwanted and abused animals that need help.

Sadly for many of those animals they will not be waking up with loving families on Christmas day like one’s own beloved pets will.
The Kloof and Highway SPCA would like to encourage our community to donate toys, treats, food and cash donations to help care for the many scared, frightened and confused animals coming through its doors this festive season.
Christmas stockings are hanging on the kitten, cat and puppy enclosures and a collection box is in Main Reception for people to drop of donations of toys, treats and food. Cash donations may be made at Main Reception. “Together let’s make this Christmas matter for the animals in our care,” said SPCA manager Barbara Patrick.
