THE annual KZN Ladies and Juniors off-road day took place at Killarney 4x4, where 85 lady riders got together for some thrills and spills.

The event was organised and hosted by Shredbettys and sponsored by Motorsport South Africa and Federation of International Motorcycling Africa.

South Africa’s top lady riders Kirsten Landman, Lanza vd Mescht, Sarah and Kirsten Mingay as well as Darren Gray who taught the juniors, were there on the day to coach the girls of all ages and riding levels.
They catered for Enduro and Motocross.
Once the morning skills lesson was over, the ladies were taken on outrides where they could hone their newly taught skills.

The purpose of the event was to introduce new ladies and juniors to the sport and to supply the KZN riders with an ongoing support structure by introducing them to fellow lady riders and offroad groups like Shredbettys.  This is a fun and informative riding day to develop riding skills among lady and junior male riders, as well as to enable the growth of women participating in Motorsport. The day ended off with a prize giving session where the ladies were totally spoilt with all the gifts from sponsors consisting of all the things they would need to ride or look good doing it.

Honda Umhlanga, KTM Alfie Cox Racing and Beta KS Enduro supplied demo bikes for both newbies and experts to try out, be it for their first time or to upgrade to a faster bigger bike.
