2016-05-24 06:00

A MAN sustained moderate injuries after he was hit by a train near the Cliffdale Station in Shongweni on Friday 20 May.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said ER24 paramedics arrived at the platform and were told by officials that the patient lay further down the tracks.

"Upon arrival, paramedics found the man lying just a few metres away from the train. The man was assessed and found to have escaped serious harm, sustaining only moderate injuries to his arms and head.

"The patient was treated and then transported to RK Khan Hospital," he said.

No one from the train sustained any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
