Municipality investigating salmonella outbreak

2018-11-20 06:00

THE eThekwini Municipality has announced that it is looking into a matter of salmonella making people sick and they ask community members to stay calm while they are looking into the situation.

Following 20 people who were admitted to hospital showing similar signs of having eaten what contains salmonella, eThekwini spokesperson Musawakhe Mayisela confirmed that the admitted people were indeed affected by salmonella.

“The members of the community should stay calm but they must make sure to always wash their hands before they touch anything that goes into their mouths because this infection is spread by not being hygienic,” he said.

Mayisela hopes that by the end of the week they will have the results with details explaining how this infection came about.
