IF a spread of picnic blankets, delicious food and fun is your thing, then make sure you get your tickets for the next instalment of Music at Makaranga, featuring headline act GoodLuck as well as other local musos, on Sunday, October 14 from noon until 5 pm. This event has now grown into one of the Highway area’s most anticipated events, so be sure to get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

GoodLuck, made up of a talented trio of musos, recognised by their blend of electronica, pop and subtle influences of jazz, have performed to sell out audiences both locally and internationally. They are best known for their top chart winning hits Creatures of the night; I’ve been thinking about you; Be Yourself; Saved by the Summer and Find me in the Forest.

GoodLuck have enjoyed extensive radio play as well as having performed alongside some of the world’s biggest dance music elites, that of Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5 and Benny Benassi.

Supporting artists at this event will include Freddy L, a solo artist hailing from Durban who just recently launched his debut album Scars 2 Stars. He’s well known for his distinctive raspy voice and unique music style consisting of indie, dance, pop with a touch of soul. Finally, last but not least, on the bill is super talented acoustic singer-songwriter Tatum Holder, who has performed at many live gigs in and around Durban.

Refreshments will be aplenty whilst enjoying the electric, folk and pop sounds, with fully stocked bars of all your favourite drinks, featuring a wide range of some of SA’s best wines, beers, a Gin & Tonic Garden as well as food — which is made available from the restaurant on-site at Makaranga Garden Lodge.

Due to the nature of the event, all concert goers must note that no food or beverages, camping chairs or umbrellas are permitted, however picnic blankets and cushions are more than welcome!

Picnic baskets may also be pre-booked through the Makaranga Deli by ordering with them directly at

A park and ride service is also available for concert goers on a first come, first served basis. Gates open at 12 noon. T’s & C’s apply.

This family-friendly event costs R140 per person and tickets are available at Webtickets. Children under the age of eight years old are free. For more information contact Big Nite Out at 031 512 5000.

Alcohol not for sale to persons under the age of 18. Drink responsibly.
