FOCUS on the Family Africa is a non-profit organisation that has been serving families since inception in 1992.
Focus on the Family director of communications Gary Steyn said for over 23 years the organisation has provided care, advice, support and encouragement to families.
“We have worked hard to respond to the many issues families face and to provide sound and practical guidance based on Christian principles. By providing valuable and relevant seminars, conferences, outreach programmes, resources on an array of important issues, personal counselling and prayer support, we aim to be the place families turn to for trusted help and encouragement.

“Our mission is nurturing and protecting families through outreach and trustworthy resources. We strive to achieve this through our guiding principles. - the permanence of Evangelism, we believe the ultimate purpose in living is to know and glorify God and to attain eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, beginning within our own families, then reaching out to a suffering humanity that does not know of His love and sacrifice.

“The permanence of marriage as we believe the institution of marriage was intended by God to be, is a permanent, lifelong relationship between a man and a woman, regardless of trials, sickness, financial reverses or emotional stresses that may ensue.”

The organisation believes in the value of children and that children are a heritage from God and a blessing from His hand.
“The sanctity of human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the widowed, the mentally handicapped, the physically challenged and every other condition is expressed from conception to the grave.
“We also believe in the relationship of church, family and government and God has ordained three basic institutions - the church, the family and the government - for the benefit of all humankind.
“The family exists to propagate the race and to provide a safe and secure haven in which to nurture, teach and love the younger generation. The church exists to minister to individuals and families by sharing the love of God and the message of repentance and salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. The government exists to maintain cultural equilibrium and to provide a framework for social order.”

Focus on the Family CEO Graeme Schnell said: “At Focus on the Family Africa, we’re committed to helping families thrive. You can count on us for uplifting articles, helpful marriage and parenting programmes, resources that address a breadth of family concerns, and practical answers to your specific problems.”
