A SECURITY guard shot an armed robber in a shoot-out in Westmead in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said a gang of seven armed robbers had held up two security guards at a business premises in Ficus Place at around 3.45am.
“When our officer arrived on the scene a suspect came out of the guard room and fired several shots at him. He returned fire before calling for backup. The suspect fled the scene,” he said.
“Our officer investigated further and found a security guard handcuffed inside the guard room and a second suspect, who had been shot earlier by the second security guard, lying injured at the back of the property.
“Paramedics attended the scene and transported the injured suspect to hospital. No other injuries were reported,” he said.
Jackson said the gang fled with computers.
