SABLE Creatures is a pro-life animal rescue organisation founded June 2012. Its mission is to help homeless, abused, neglected animals and provide assistance to pet owners who live in poverty in underprivileged areas.

The areas Sable Creatures focus on helping are faced with financial hardship where people struggle to meet their basic needs and their animals are left to fend for themselves, eating out of trash heaps or roaming the street in search of food and water.

It rescues neglected or unwanted pets and try to find them loving homes and do emergency rescues, from saving a pup stuck in a storm drain, kittens from the ceiling of a broken down building or a dog caught in a trap.

Every three months the organisation has a community outreach day where one a vet goes into the townships with members or the organisation and they do mass vaccinations, spays, feeding and dip the many animals that arrive.

The organisation’s new goals are to build kennels for the animals that have no shelter and either dig holes in the ground or take shelter where they can.

According to Seema Duwarkah founder of Sable Creatures, there are many needy township animals that have no shelter.

“Help give them the shelter they so urgently need by donating planks, pallets, nails, water-proof paint, etc., for us to build much-needed kennels or you can donate a kennel you no longer need.

‘You can also help by donating to Sables Creatures, Nedbank, Current account: 1119991218, branch code: 131026. If you do make a donation, email so we can thank you.”
