Other provinces are clean

2017-04-04 06:02

DURING a recent road trip to the Eastern and Western Cape, I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful and clean the picnic sites were along the national routes in the two provinces. Even the little towns we passed through in the Eastern Cape were respectable, particularly when one considers that we passed through many of them at the weekend when many of the locals went to town to shop.

Except for one extremely poor gravel road to Rhodes, all of the national roads were in good condition. During a road trip to Namibia a few years back, we also found their picnic sites to be clean and well-maintained.

If the Eastern and Western Cape and Namibia can keep their picnic sites clean and decent, why can’t the local authorities do likewise in KZN?
