Pedestrian seriously injured in collision

A 36-year-old man was left seriously injured when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on the N3 before the Richmond Road Bridge in Westmead, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 spokesperson said paramedics arrived on the scene and found a man lying in the centre medium. The light motor vehicle that had struck the man was parked a short distance away.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the man and found that he had sustained several injuries and was in a serious condition. The man was treated for his injuries and also provided with advanced life support interventions. Shortly after treatment, the man was transported by ambulance to RK Khan Provincial Hospital for urgent care.”

The driver of the light motor vehicle, a man, was assessed and found to have escaped injury. The accident is being investigated. - Supplied.
