THE children and ponies are ready for the 2016 programme of “therapy in motion”, at the South African Riding for the Disabled Association games so now is the time to assist in the arena with them commencing this week.

Volunteer Linda Wilson explained: “To ensure the children gain maximum benefit from therapeutic riding in a safe environment, each class is led by a qualified instructor with a volunteer team assisting as sidewalkers or pony leaders.

“There's nothing to beat fresh air, happy children and our ponies in the lovely countryside in Assagay. The sheer joy of the children as they develop their bodies, minds and skills on horseback is wonderful to see.

“Training classes on pony-leading skills, first aid in and out of the arena, the role of sidewalkers, the benefits of riding therapy and more will be held during February.”
