Recycling programme affected by storm

2017-11-07 06:00

THE Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit (DSW) informs residents that the “kerbside recycling programme”, known as the “orange re- cycling bag programme”, is temporarily closed due to damage to the recycling plant.

The DSW’s recycling partner, Mpact was badly damaged during the recent storms and cannot accept orange and clear recycling bags from contractors and collectors until repairs have been completed.

Repairs may take up to four weeks.

Due to these challenges, DSW asks all residents to keep their recyclables in their orange and clear bags at home or on their property until further notice.

The eThekwini Municipality asks residents for their continued participation and partnership in this recycling programme.
