Residents told to use water sparingly

2018-01-16 06:01

THE eThekwini Municipality has cautioned residents, especially those in the Outer West areas, to use water sparingly.

This is as a result of the lower than normal supply of water to these areas. An investigation is currently under way to determine the reason for the decreased supply from Umgeni Water Services.

As the city experiences high temperatures, the demand for water increases and residents are urged to ensure they utilise water responsibly.

WATER-SAVING TIPS

• Check taps and pipes for leaks.

• Use your dishwasher and washing machine only when you have a full load.

• Do not leave the tap running while washing dishes.

• Teach children to use water sparingly.

Residents are asked to report water leaks on the toll free number 080 131 3013, e-mail Eservices@durban.gov.za or WhatsApp 073 148 3477.
