Reviving of the Hillcrest CPF

AFTER six years, members of the Hillcrest Community will be reviving the Police Forum. A special general meeting has been called to nominate and elect a new executive committee with the meeting set to be held at the Curro Senior School on Friday, June 29, at 5:30pm.

Retired Brigadier Eddie Kennedy said the following persons and organizations are invited to attend this very important meeting: “We are calling upon members of Community Based Crime Prevention Organisations operating in the Hillcrest area, representatives from security companies, representatives from business in the area including local Business against Crime, and the local Chamber of Commerce.”

He added that members of the community not part of any particular organisation or group, traditional leaders, representatives from religious formations in the area and an official from Safety and Security Liaison are also invited. He said that the aim in reviving the CPF stemmed from the increase of criminal activities in the area and a desire to reduce that.

“Working together with SAPS, we will be able to fight crime much easier and we’ll have less criminal activities,” said Kennedy. He appealed to the Hillcrest community to come in their numbers so that they will be able to reduce crime in the area.
