HILLCREST SAPS members were commended for their sterling work following the arrests of armed robbers and a rapist in Ngcolosi recently.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer Captain Linzi Smith said: “On Good Friday, March 30, there was a house robbery in the Ngcolosi area, Hillcrest, where four men entered a house and held up a female occupant. During the robbery, one suspect raped the victim and fled the scene with stolen items.”

Smith said that Lieutenant Colonel E. Jacobs, Hillcrest’s detective branch commander and acting station commander for Hillcrest Police Station, called for assistance from Durban’s public order policing members on Sunday, April 1, and acting on information and intelligence, they proceeded to arrest successfully all four suspects.

“Lieutenant Colonel Jacobs is to be commended for his dedication and hard work on this case, and for the successful arrests made by all members involved,” said Smith. — Supplied.
