MAIN Group of Spars managing director Grant Nicholls congratulated Dean Wight who raised an incredible R327 000 for the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust (Hact) in his aim to support the Comrades 2018 Race4Charity.
According to Main Group of Spars’ spokesperson Tersia Taskes, Wight took up the challenge to run Comrades 2018 in support of Hact.

“Wight initially thought that his target of R10 000 would be a struggle to achieve, however, with the support of his followers on his Beloved Long Runs Group, Wight’s supporters rose to the occasion and donated a whopping R327 000.”

Wight co-ordinated many fun training runs in preparation for Comrades 2018. With sponsorship and support from Nicholls, the runs were co-ordinated to perfection, ensuring well-stocked water tables along the various planned running routes.

“The Main Group of Spars salutes Dean Wight on his wonderful achievement for raising much-needed funds for Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust,” said Taskes.

Wight said he is grateful for the support he received.

“I’m so grateful to everyone who donated. I truly don’t know how I raised so much money, I’m grateful to God for each of you and most of all for my lovely wife Despina Wight, who’s been my biggest supporter during the campaign.” — Supplied.
