DURING the KwaZulu-Natal 2018 school boys’ rugby Annual General Meeting, Hillcrest High School rugby coach Dusty Noble was appointed as the assistant coach of the 2019 Sharks Craven week team.

The event was held at Kearsney College in Hillcrest on Saturday,

While accepting this important achievement and reward for the work he has put in at Hillcrest High School and grassroots rugby in KZN, Noble said: “This gives me an opportunity to measure myself with the best in the country, in terms of the other coaches, and also challenges me as a coach because I’ll be working with the best talent in the country”.

He said that this should serve as motivation for any co-educational school (coach or player) that the doors are open to coach and play with the best, adding that Hillcrest High school’s rugby will certainly benefit from his appointment.

“I will be able to give back hugely to our school from this experience,” Noble said.

Noble hopes that his achievement will serve to highlight local achievers and act as positive motivation to other co-educational rugby school coaches or players within KZN that they can compete with the best.

“Our boys can be confident that the standard of coaching they are being exposed to is right up there with the top rugby schools in the province,” said the newly appointed assistant coach.

In conclusion, the Hillcrest High rugby coach said he looks forward to developing rugby in the Upper Highway area and to using all his knowledge to take Hillcrest High rugby forward and grow it from strength to strength. “Let us grow this sport in the community.”
