THE start of the new year is the perfect time to get organised and the 2016 “Contrasts of Africa” wall and desk calendars, available for R170 and R50 respectively, will help you plan your work and social life for the year.

The limited edition wildlife calendar is produced by the voluntary organisation, Under an African Sky, which is a Compass Medical Waste Services initiative. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar go to Crow to assist it with the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned wild animals. The funds from the 2016 calendar will be used by Crow for the expansion of its baby antelope enclosure.

According to Claire Hodgkinson, Crow director, last year was one of the busiest years on record for the non-profit organisation, with its dedicated team providing life-saving care and treatment to over 3 400 injured and orphaned animals from across KwaZulu-Natal.

“On behalf of the animals we serve, I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to our supporters and all of Crow’s donors, sponsors and partners for their generous support over the past year,’’ says Hodgkinson.

“In 2015 we celebrated our 35th anniversary which prompted our organisation to reflect and plan on how best we can position ourselves to respond to the growing challenges and threats our wildlife is facing.

“With this in mind, we have a number of exciting projects and campaigns that we aim to undertake in 2016. This includes the expansion of our facilities and forming several new partnerships with like-minded organisations that share our commitment to safeguarding our wildlife’s right to a free life in their natural habitat,’’ says Hodgkinson.

To place an order for the 2016 Contrasts of Africa wall or desk calendar and support Crow at the same time, visit or phone 031 267 9700 and ask to be put through to Under An African Sky.
