FOUR candidates graduated from the SPAR Academy of Learning as they successfully completed the Supervisor Development Programme recently.

Group promotions and advertising spokesperson of the Main Group of SPARS Tersia Taskes said: “The purpose­ of this training programme is to develop supervisors as an individual­ as well as their supervisory knowledge and skills so that they are able to make a positive difference in store.

The course consists of 15 days of classroom sessions, consisting of numerous modules and workshops covering various different aspects of a supervisory role.

“This includes, the requirements for effective communication, how to apply the decision making/ problem solving process to make a management decision, learning different leadership styles and circumstances where the styles would be appropriate, the basic financial implications of running a supermarket, to learn common problems regarding customer care and effective ways to deal with them and to devise action plans to improve department sales.”
