THE Kloof and Highway SPCA’s annual Ride or Run 2k, held at Giba Gorge on Wednesday, June 13, was a huge success.

Operations officer of the Kloof and Highway SPCA Sarah Van Heerden said the event has been running for approximately five years, and Giba Gorge have been so generous in hosting their event at their beautiful venue.

“The fundraising event is held annually to raise funds for any special projects we have on the go, or whereever the greatest need lies at the time. This year, we have purchased a Clinic Ambulance Vehicle that will be reaching the outlying areas where patients cannot always get to us. Our staff will be able to educate the people at the same time as they treat their animals and provide inoculations. Some of the funds will go to settle the costs for the vehicle,” she explained.

She also thanked all the supporters and participants of the event: “We would like to say the most sincere thank you for your loyalty and for choosing our Kloof and Highway SPCA as your charity. We need each and everyone one of you in order to continue our work, and will never take your support for granted.”

Van Heerden added that if there is anyone who would like to donate to Kloof and Highway SPCA they can contact her via e-mail at
operations@kloofspca.co.za or go straight onto their website and get the banking details there. “We constantly need unwanted or second hand items to sell in our Thrift Shops so donations are not limited to monetary. If you have household goods, second hand clothes and any linen and curtains we would be very appreciative. The funds raised from these go directly to our animals and are vital,” she said.
