SPCA walk in aid of ‘mutts’

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA will be hosting its annual Mutt Mile Dog Walk sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Merial on Sunday, June 25, at 29 Village Road, Kloof.

Registration opens at 9am and the walking route is open from 9 am-11 am. The distance is 1.6 km. Entry is R50 per adult, R20 per dog and children under 12 are free. Additional R10 per dog to enter the Mutt Mile Hero Obstacle Challenge competition.

There will be special guests from the Bruntville Dog Project, who will be doing an arena demonstration.

The Bruntville Dog Project is a community based project in the Bruntville Township, Mooi River where they teach the children in the area how to train their dogs as well as educate them about the importance of animals.

All 11 SPCA charity shops will be open from 8.30am to 12.30 pm filled with newly donated goods where you will find many little treasures. There will be live entertainment throughout the morning and plenty of activities for children too.
