HILLCREST Ranger Guide Crew’s Sarah Done aimed to spread some Easter cheer last week when she organised an Easter Egg Collection at Waterfall SuperSpar.

The Guides’ aim was to collect as many eggs as they could and donate it to the less fortunate in the area.

Girl Guides and Brownies of 1st Hillcrest Guide Company and Brownie Pack helped with the collection. They approached Spar shoppers as they entered the store and asked them to buy and donate some marshmallow Easter Eggs for their collection. The customers of Waterfall SuperSpar were very generous and in total 2600 Easter Eggs were collected.

Done said: “Some of the schools that the eggs were distributed to included Kwa Thintwa School for the Deaf, and Ethembeni School for the Disabled in Inchanga. Eggs were also given to Esibusisweni Orphanage, Zamahlubi Crèche, Vumelane Care Centre, Thulathando Crèche and Zimele Centre for the Disabled.”

Done thanked owner of Watefall Spar Des Quinfor allowing the Girl Guides to conduct their collection outside the store. “Thank you to all those who helped in the collection and distribution of the Easter Eggs. It was a success,” she added.- Supplied
