Stepson arrested for killing stepmom

PINETOWN police made a break through on June 20 when they arrested a 32-year-old suspect for killing his 57-year-old stepmother.

KwaZulu-Natal SAPS spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said the victim was reported missing on February 21, and her body was found three days later at the bottom of a cliff next to the Ekuthuleni area in Wyebank.

A case of murder was opened at the Pinetown Police Station for investigation.

After an intensive investigation, it was alleged that the victim was killed by her stepson, who put her in a wheelbarrow and dropped her body over the cliff.

The suspect left the area and went into hiding, however the investigators heard that the suspect was in the area and proceeded to Ekuthuleni where he was arrested and charged.

He is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon. — Supplied
