Successful joint operation leads to arrests

TWO suspects, aged 29 and 33, were arrested in Hillcrest on Wednesday, June 20, during an operation conducted by eThekwini Inner and Outer West Cluster Task Team together with the Provincial Trio Task Team.

Police were conducting crime intelligence driven operations when they were led to a house in Molweni. There they found the first suspect with a 9mm pistol and live ammunition.

The second suspect was arrested for possession of heroin and a toy gun, which is believed to be have been used during the commission of crime. Police will investigate possible links to other criminal activities in the area.

Cluster Commander Major General James Sayer commended the team for a great job, saying: “EThekwini Inner and Outer West Cluster is not a place for criminals” he has encouraged the police to continue out rooting crime and protecting the community. — Supplied
