A 32-year-old man was arrested in Hammersdale for possession of stolen property recently.

Members from the eThekwini Inner and Outer West Cluster Crime Intelligence together with the narcotics team conducted an intelligence driven operation in the area, following an alleged theft of polypropylene polymer from a company in Hammersdale.

Polypropylene polymer is a synthetic resin used to produce plastic products.

During their investigation, the police stopped a truck in Green Road in Valvic Business Park. Upon searching, they found four bags of polypropylene polymer weighing 1375 kg, worth about R90 000.

The suspect is expected to appear before court soon.

The acting cluster commander of eThekwini Inner and Outer West cluster, Brigadier Gerald Singh has welcomed the arrest. “The police in this cluster will not tolerate any criminal activities.” X Supplied
