A 28-year-old man was arrested by Hillcrest SAPS Task Team last week after being found with property suspected to be stolen.
Hillcrest communication officer Constable Ndumiso Manqele said: “Hillcrest Task Team were performing crime prevention duties in the area when they received information about a suspect who was in possession of property suspected to be stolen from the Embo area. The members proceeded to the scene where the suspect was and they found him in his house with the stolen items.
They questioned him about the items that was found in his possession and he could not produce any proof of ownership.
Police found items namely a four plate stove, wheel barrow, brush cutter and other items. It is alleged that the suspect is involved in house breaking cases that occurred in the area”
A case of possession of property suspected to be stolen was opened.
The suspect will be investigated and police will check if the man is not involved in other cases in the Upper Highway area. The suspect will be charged and he will appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.
