Tow-truck owner in court for murder

A MAN has been arrested for two counts of murder. The 37-year-old man was handed over to the police by his attorney. His arrest follows an incident that occurred on October 14 at Luganda area in Marianhill, where two men were assaulted and burnt with petrol.

They were taken to hospital for medical attention where Mxolisi Mkhize (31) was pronounced dead upon arrival. The second victim, Moses Sele Magama (34), was also admitted to hospital but died on October 16.

The victims were employed by the accused to wash his vehicles. It is alleged that they were questioned by the suspect with regard to a missing gearbox. They were assaulted and burnt with petrol during the interrogation. Two counts of murder were opened for investigation at Marianhill SAPS.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.
